Importing assignee groups
You can import a previously-exported assignee group file (.cgr extension) from the Manage Assignee Groups window. To display this window, click Manage Assignee Groups on the Patents: Innovation Trend Analysis page.
To import an assignee group file, you must have fewer than 1000 groups in your list. You can import only one file at a time, but it might contain multiple assignee groups.
- In the Manage Assignee Groups window, click Import.
- In the Import Groups dialog box, click Browse.
- In the Open dialog box, navigate to the folder that contains the assignee group file (.cgr extension) that you want to import, and then select it.
- Click Open.
- In the Import Groups dialog box, click Import.
-
(Optional) If you see a Warning dialog box that informs you about duplicate assignee group names, select one of the following options, and then click OK:
- Overwrite existing assignee groups. Selecting this option overwrites the assignee groups that are currently in your list with those that have the same name.
- Skip importing groups with duplicate names. Selecting this option does not import those assignee groups that have the same name into your list.
- Import all groups, but rename those with duplicate names. Selecting this option imports all assignee groups. However, if the name of the imported group matches the name of a group that is already in your list, the imported group is renamed by adding (new) to its name. For example, if you are importing an assignee group Honda to a list that already contains a group with this name, the imported group is renamed Honda (new) and is added to your list.
