What's new in Release 12.x
What's new in Release 12.6
Release 12.6 of Goldfire by Accuris includes the following enhancements:
- Added the option for Goldfire users with administrator privileges to configure with Advanced Search filters regular Goldfire users can choose from when performing an Advanced Search.

Release 12.5 of Goldfire includes the following enhancements:
- Connectivity Settings Management - Identity profiles can be used to store the account credentials for a content source. Multiple indexing tasks can use the same profile so that when account credentials need to be updated only the identity profile needs to be edited. This saves the administrator from manually updating the saved credentials in every task.
- Doc Viewer is installed but not enabled as part of the Goldfire installation process so that corporate IT does not have to perform a separate task to set it up.
- Additional usage metrics for document opening, exporting, and saving to My Data are available for administrators to understand end user activity.
- Indexing Manager has better tracking of tasks from in-progress to completed.

Version 12.5 of Goldfire Web client includes the following changes and enhancements:
- Sort by the field value - this option can only be enabled for only corporate knowledge bases, and specifically for the Datetime and Numeric metadata types. When enabled, corresponding additional sorting criteria appears under the Sort by option, which appears above the results grid in the Goldfire client.

- Removed support for Oracle User Databases. Oracle user database options will also be removed from the installation wizard. The online update checks to see whether the current user database is Oracle, and warns you accordingly.
- When displaying query results, documents with the following formats can be viewed from the results page with the extracted sentence highlighted: TXT, DOC, RTF, WPD, HTML, PPT, PDF, XLS, and XML. Now, where the native program in which the document was created is not installed on your computer, Goldfire uses a DocumentView feature to display and highlight the content in your web browser.
- Repurposed our Google Chrome extension that enables highlighting in Goldfire web client search results to work with Microsoft Edge. Click to describe how to install the extension.

- When the URL of a document that is referenced in a My Data collection
changes, (for example, when a document server is replaced in your
enterprise), use the Replace URL option to update the reference path. The
path is updated the next time you display your My Data collection.
The Replace URL command, located in the Source tab of the Knowledge Bases page, enables you to change one or more URLs simultaneously. This feature replaces the URL so that the source documents do not require re-indexing. - Improved response times with the Researcher module by retrieving documents, facets, and categories in parallel mode.
- A new version of the Goldfire Search API provides optimized methods for retrieval of documents, facets, and categories.
- The new Goldfire API supports requests to My Data, including searching in My Data.
- The Select Where to Search dialog box is resizable.

- Using Goldfire Admin, process PDFs in a given knowledge base using optical character recognition (OCR) so that Goldfire can index the results.
- Search within your My Data collections. When My Data is enabled, other knowledge bases cannot be selected. Within the My Data pane, you can create groups under which collections can be moved. This enables you to customize and organize the My Data navigation tree, and ultimately, to leverage the efficiency of searching curated sources.

Using this filter, you can refine your search results to display only documents stored in a specific machine or a specific folder in your network shares. This empowers you to uncover other, related documents that are stored in the same folder or machine.

The benefit of getting a copy of the URL for your query is that you can share this link with anyone who has a Goldfire license and they can easily reproduce your search by pasting the link into their browser and signing into their Goldfire account.
- Search Snippet Views: Goldfire empowers you to customize how you engage with your search results by allowing you to select the detail you want to see for documents in your search results. - Cognitive search: Goldfire provides users with a set of search features that enhance and better support your search experience. Boolean-free searching enables you to search all metadata associated with a document without Boolean operands. Wildcard searching enables you to replace characters in the words of a query with an asterisk (*). Improved PDF Searching enables you to define key fields that are extracted from PDF documents during the indexing process.

- Automatic selection of custom synonyms: If you do not select any synonyms for your query, and your administrator has defined custom synonyms associated with the term you are searching, then Goldfire automatically selects custom synonyms to be included as part of your query.
- Sunburst viewer for lenses: Provides users with an enhanced, visual representation of the category types associated with documents from a query, enabling you to see the composition of returned search results based on the category types, categories, and answers.
- Russian semantic engine: Goldfire now supports Russian for cross-language search functionality. Queries submitted in Russian will now return related documents in the search results that are not in Russian.
- Click data for search improvements: In an effort to improve the ranking of documents in your search results, Goldfire has started to collect anonymous data about your search activity.
