Managing queries and alerts

To open the My Queries & Alerts tab, on the main menu click My Queries & Alerts. and then click the Manage Queries & Alerts tab.

If the total number of queries exceeds what can be displayed on one page, page numbers are shown at the bottom of the results window.

  • To go to a specific page, click the desired page number.
  • To scroll the pages sequentially, click the Back or the Forward arrow located at either end of the page number sequence.

To change the name of a query

  • Click in the Query Name box to change the name.

To modify the query criteria

  • Click Edit Query next to the query name. This opens the Edit Query page, where you can change the query statement as well as the targeted knowledge bases.

To clone a query

  1. Click   . This opens a copy of the selected query in the Duplicate Alert window and names it Copy of<alert name>.

  2. Modify the query attributes, such as the search criteria and the frequency.
  3. Click Duplicate.

To delete a query

  • Click .

To run a scheduled query now

  • Click Run Now at the right of the query for which you want new results. The Run Now window shows the progress of the operation.

If your saved query has a keyword (as opposed to an assignee group name) in the Assignee field, the query is run without asking you first to define a temporary assignee group.

Creating e-mail alerts

For each scheduled query, Goldfire can send you an automated e-mail message whenever new results are found. You can specify that the e-mail message be sent to multiple e-mail addresses. Goldfire will send a separate e-mail message for each scheduled query that has found new results.

The e-mail message also includes up to five new results from corporate knowledge bases and up to five new results from patents & articles knowledge bases. In the message, the results are presented as answers and citations.

To turn on automatic e-mail alerts

  1. Select the E-mail Alerts check box.
  2. In the text box, type one or more e-mail addresses, separated by semicolons.

To turn off automatic e-mail alerts

  • Clear the E-mail Alerts check box.
