Use the following Boolean operators in any field. Boolean operators must be enclosed in angle brackets ( < > ):
<AND>
<OR>
<NOT>
To build a complex query with additional Boolean logic, click Query Building mode, and then type your query in the Query box.
A query can use either a keyword, for example, Publication Date, or a keyword identifier, for example, PD. Goldfire automatically transforms keyword identifiers into the metadata field name after submitting the query.
Supported Patent Codes, which can be used as metadata identifiers are described in the Supported Patent Fields topic. Any custom identifiers populated by GoldfireGoldfire connectors can also be used in a search.
- To specify any operator, type < , and then click the operator to add to the query.
- To specify a metadata field, use the <IN> operator. For example, type <IN> Publication Date.
- To specify a metadata field identifier, use the identifier after <IN> operator. For example, type <IN> PD, which means the same sense as <IN> Publication Date.
