Filtering by patent fields
Information in patent documents is organized into standardized sections called patent fields. Fielded search focuses on specific patent fields, such as Title or Abstract, to locate the sentences or phrases with the same grammatical structure as the query.
There are the following kinds of patent fields:
- Text fields, such as Title, Abstract, Claims, Detailed Description, Drawing, Background Summary
- Bibliographic fields, such as Publication Number, Assignee, and Publication Date
