Using Cause Finder
Use Cause Finder to help you find causes of events in your model.

When you click (Cause Finder), an automatic cause-effect search begins. Goldfire searches for effects in the following knowledge base sources:
- Accuris Content
- Patents
- Articles
- Corporate knowledge bases
- Cause-effect models that are stored in My Data to which you have access.
Click Select Where to Search to select the document sources in which to search.
in order to be included in the cause-effect search, corporate knowledge bases must be semantically indexed for cause-effect searches.

To specify the language of your query, click (Language) at the left of the Query box, and then click the language that you want. The following languages are available:
The Russian semantic engine is partially supported by Goldfire and is limited in scope. A limited set of corporate categories for Russian is available to users. Russian is not a language that can be translated into and from other Goldfire supported languages.

In knowledge bases that are indexed for cause-effect searching, Goldfire searches for effects. If any matching effects are found, the causes of the effects are returned as results.
In cause-effect models that are stored in My Data, Goldfire searches for events. If any matching events are found, the causes of the events are returned as results.

The following information is shown in Cause Finder:
- The Find Causes text box, which contains the original query.
- Results lists (under Causes from Knowledge Bases and Causes from My Data).
- Total number of results.

Two lists of results are shown:
- Results from knowledge bases that have been semantically indexed for cause-effect searches
- Results from cause-effect models that are stored in My Data
To change the sizes of the two results lists, drag the split bar up or down between the two lists.

If the list of results from knowledge bases includes more than can be displayed on one page, use the scroll bar to display more results.

To scroll the pages sequentially, click the Back and the Forward arrows, which are located at either end of the page number sequence
